#16 Batman Begins

While I'm not a huge fan of superhero movies, Batman has always been the exception.  This is probably my least favorite movie of the Dark Knight trilogy, but it's still a very good movie and it's an important when it comes to setting up the plot.  Christian Bale and Liam Neeson team up to give us some really good action scenes and Scarecrow delivers as a great villain.  If it wasn't for Ledger's Joker character, Scarecrow would probably be my favorite Batman villain (Sorry Bane).  Overall, it is a fun movie with many good action scenes and it's a necessary movie if you want to understand the big picture when watching Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises. Rating: 6.8/10....Enjoyable movie.  I thought it was a little slow at points due to plot setup, but it's needed for the series so it didn't bother me too much.

#15 Blazing Saddles

Two words sum up this movie perfectly: Politically Incorrect.  If you're easily offended, don't even waste your time.  If you have a dark sense of humor or aren't bothered by political incorrectness for a movie, this is right up your alley.  I personally think this one is fantastic.  It has a funny story line and there's a piece of dark humor every few seconds.  I've now seen this movie a few times and I still laugh hysterically throughout the whole movie.  There are a couple of interesting facts about this one too...such as Mel Brooks told Frankie Laine that he was making a serious western movie and needed a serious cowboy theme song.  I'm looking forward to watching this movie again as I always see or hear something new each time I watch it. Rating: 8.2/10....Fantastic movie, really funny throughout, don't watch it if you're easily offended, and RIP Gene Wilder

#14 Vegas Vacation

I don't even know where to begin with this movie.  I love Chevy Chase, I love Las Vegas, and it's impossible to not think Cousin Eddie is hilarious.  The movie starts out hilariously as he runs over everything in sight on his way home with Vegas on his mind...can't blame him there!  If you've ever been to Vegas, you will appreciate Marty, the trash talking blackjack dealer too.  This movie was made perfectly and for everyone that's been to Vegas, it gives you a hilarious look at a Vegas trip gone wrong.  I love the whole series of the Vacation movies, but Vegas Vacation will always be my favorite.  I just home someday I can be half as lucky as Mr. Papagiorgio! Rating: 7.5/10

#13 Death Race

Death Race was a middle of the road movie for me...no pun intended.  It pretty much met my expectations, which were pretty average, and never exceeded them.  When you simply think of the words "Death Race," you expect some sort of fast driving/flying and probably some sort of attacking other racers.  This movie really doesn't leave anything to the imagination and left me slightly entertained while also a little underwhelmed.  I wouldn't say that it's a bad move...just very predictable. Rating: 6.2/10...I like Jason Stathom so that helped it be a little more entertaining for me personally

#12 Airplane!

This is one of those movies that's simply hard to review.  It's supposed to be stupid and it is.  In terms of doing stupid the "right" way, they knock it out of the park.  Characters saying things that you would never imagine those types of people saying in real life, mixing in celebrities, and everything in between leaves you shaking your head for the duration of the movie.  Again, if you watch this movie, you have to know that it's going to be stupid going in and be wanting that type of comedy.  If you expect a well thought out comedy with witty jokes and a decent story line, this one is not for you.  I knew it would be stupid and I thought it was a pretty funny movie and perfect for letting go of all serious thoughts for an hour and a half. Just don't call me Shirly. Rating: 7.3/10...it's a great movie if you're expecting the level of stupidity it brings to the table

#11 El Dorado

This was the first of many John Wayne films on our list.  My friend, Matt, is the main person I'm watching these movies with.  He's a huge John Wayne fan and put quite a few on our list.  I've always enjoyed John Wayne films but I'm nowhere near as knowledgeable as Matt is.  This movie is everything you want in a classic western.  Drama, suspense, gunfights, and a few classic John Wayne quotes.  The story keeps you interested as he has a few minor battles along the way to his main mission.  I really enjoyed this movie and I'm looking forward to other John Wayne movies that I haven't seen yet. Rating: 7/10...great, classic western movie...John Wayne is an icon

#10 The Rundown

The Rundown used to be one of my favorite movies when I was younger.  While my taste in movies and acting has changed since then, I still enjoy this movie.  The Rock plays his typical badass role, fighting anybody who looks at him the wrong way, while trying to free himself of a brutal retrieval job.  The addition of Sean William Scott's comedic acting makes for a perfect mix of action and laughs.  You see how each character learns from the other throughout the movie and creates some fun and intense scenes towards the end. Rating: 6.5/10...good movie that I'll always have a soft spot for

#9 Sinister

Let me preface this review by saying that I am not a fan of horror movies.  This is another instance where it is good to have a genre and a personal rating.  This movie was beyond frustrating to me.  Many cliche horror movie events and mindless actions by the victims of the paranormal.  Below is a list of things that should be obvious to the characters in this movie: 1. Don't move your family into a house where a murder took place 2. Turn the lights on occasionally 3. Open the blinds when it's clearly light outside 4. Move away before the really creepy stuff starts happening This movie engulfed me with suspense due to the fact that I don't like horror films to begin with.  There really wasn't much action until the last half hour of the movie.  I wish more horrifying things would've happened and throughout the movie.  Overall, it was just okay for me.  Nothing special but not a complete dud either. Rating: 5/10...okay...nothing I would go...

#8 The Expendables

This movie is exactly what you'd expect it to be.  It has every action star from the last 20 years and every star kicks ass in their own way.  I really don't have many words for this movie.  If you like to see a bunch of action stars kick some ass, go check out this movie series. Rating: 6.8/10...fun movie if you want to watch some classic heroes kick some ass

#7 The Departed

This star filled movie was a new one for me and it quickly turned into one of my favorite action/drama movies.  I love any movie with Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, and Leo in it, so when all three are together, it is a no brainer.  The plot keeps you guessing the entire movie and has you in suspense while waiting to see if people figure out who everyone truly is.  I can't say enough about the actors and the plot of this movie and I will be watching this movie again once the list is complete. Rating: 7.5/10...too many great actors for this to not be a good movie

#6 Olympus Has Fallen

This movie may be a very cliche "hero" movie, but I like the way it was done.  You know the outcome, you know the good guys will win, but it still keeps my attention.  Gerard Butler is creative and surprising in his attacks on the enemy and if you like a good, badass movie, I highly recommend this movie and its sequel, "London Has Fallen." Rating: 7/10...I enjoy "one man army" types of movies if they're done right

#5 Meet the Spartans

This movie is stupid.  In this rare instance, stupid is a good thing.  Perfect for sitting down and wanting to laugh at the most ridiculous of things and letting your mind go for a couple hours.  Meet the Spartans has a hilarious combination of raunchy, clean and nonverbal comedy.  This type of movie is why I am breaking the ratings down into genre and personal.  This may not be a typical "comedy" but it meets its goal in being "stupid" funny.  I watch this movie a couple times a year and it always has me laughing. Rating: 6/10...solid, stupid comedy

#4 Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

I had seen this movie a long time ago but I didn't remember much about it going into the movie.  Harrison Ford is a phenomenal actor and he did not disappoint.  This movie has a good combination of action and comedy.  The plot was intriguing and left you guessing the entire movie.  If you're having a bad day, just remember that it could be a lot worse if Harrison Ford threw a flaming kabob into your chest. Rating: 7/10...I mean...Harrison Ford

#3 Dodgeball

Dodgeball is one of my favorite comedies.  Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn are perfect in their roles and deliver more than enough comedy.  The movie has a variety of clean and raunchy comedy and it is a perfect combination.  The overall idea behind the movie is funny and each character has their own unique purpose that adds to the movie.  This will always be one of my favorite comedies and I'm never disappointed by it. Rating: 8/10...one of my favorite comedies

#2 The Equalizer

This is currently one of my favorite action films.  Denzel Washington delivers as a stone faced badass that out thinks and out executes everyone he comes across.  From OCD to expert killing machine, Denzel completely knows and executes his role.  The amount of thinking the movie makes you do is perfect in my mind and has a good ratio of talking to fighting.  This movie also has its share of small comedic moments. Rating: 8.5/10...love Denzel and his methodical ways of getting the job done in this one

#1 Dukes of Hazzard (New)

The first movie watched was the new Dukes of Hazzard ft Johnny Knoxville.  This movie was filled with physical and verbal comedy.  Johnny Knoxville fits the role perfectly and delivers throughout the film.  The General Lee is an American icon and it was good to see a proper reproduction of the original.  While the movie itself was funny, it was a movie that is on the borderline of being simply stupid...a fine line I have with comedies.  This one crossed that line here and there, but was overall pretty satisfying and funny. Rating: 5/10...middle of the road...not great, not bad

Intro

Over the next few months, I will be watching over 200 of the best movies ever made.  These movies are from every genre and from any year.  Come with me on the journey as I watch and review every movie along the way! *Edit - This is taking way longer than we originally thought...hate it when real life gets in the way.  Also, we've added to the list quite a bit and it's up to about 240 now...we are about 100 movies in and I am trying to crank out reviews...let me know if you have any movie suggestions to add to our list!
